Cozy walkways and quiet seaside towns where watching the waves roll in make for a perfectly acceptable afternoon schedule certainly set the scene for a romantic getaway. While many Santa Rosa Beach communities are ideally charming for romance, the Seaside Honeymoon Cottages take the cake for where lovers should stay on 30A.

Breaking Your Fast on 30A

They say breakfast is the breakfastandbrunch02most important meal of the day, and when you’re in a place like 30A, it’s absolutely true.  For those who don’t know, 30A is the stretch of Florida highway that spans the distance between Sandestin and Panama City Beach.  30A is a composition of charming, comfortable, luxurious beachfront communities that fully embrace sustainability and local culture.  For this reason, locally owned businesses and restaurants and farmer’s markets thrive.  People bike, walk, and jog from town to town; it’s nothing to walk from Seaside to Watercolor for breakfast or to take your bike from Seagrove to Grayton Beach for breakfast.

Speaking of breakfast, breakfast is often considered the most important meal of the day, which is why folks on 30A are happy to have a few great places they can count on to provide a delicious, nutritious, fun start to the day’s epicurean adventures.

Not Just Another Broken Egg Café

One of thebreakfastandbrunch03 most delectable and innovative breakfast menus on 30A is undoubtedly the Another Broken Egg Café in Grayton Beach (locations are also in Destin and Baytowne Wharf).  This unabashedly creative and “egg” centric restaurant serves a little bit of everything from sweet pastries to yolk-focused dishes (like the Belgian Waffle or Thick Sliced Hawaiian French toast served with seasonal berries).

There are omelettes and most enticingly, six renditions of Eggs Benedict, many featuring seafood (like the salmon and crab).

For those who aren’t in the breakfast fan club, the menu generously accommodates with burgers and traditional sides.  This is undoubtedly to both demonstrate the chef’s applaudable culinary prowess and to ensure no guest leave displeased.

As the best breakfast destination on 30A, it’s hard to see how anyone could leave Another Broken Egg Café in any condition other than fully satiated.

Truly the Great Southern Café

breakfastandbrunch05The Great Southern Café in Seaside on 30A (just a mile or so up the road from Grayton Beach) offers another of the top best local breakfasts on 30A.  Part of the Great Southern’s charm is its prime positioning in overlooking the amphitheater in Seaside.  You’re more than welcome to have a seat on the patio outdoors overlooking the town and 30A.

Menu-wise, the Great Southern Café brings its (30)A game and a little bit of everything.  Start your meal with the Bloody Mary where a kick of horseradish and hint of lagniappe will get your day started right.  The menu features a little something of everything, all of which is in the southern persuasion.  So, while they may not have several eggs Benedict, they do have the Fried Green Tomato Benedict, which if that isn’t southern, I don’t know what is.

Riding into the Cowgirl Kitchen Market for the Morning Meal

The third 30A breakfast haunt worthy of highlighting is the oh-so-popular and delightful Cowgirl Kitchen Market located in Seagrove next to the acclaimed Whiskey Bravo. The original Cowgirl breakfastandbrunch04Kitchen located in Rosemary Beach just a few short miles away is also open for breakfast, so giddyup.

The pickings at the Cowgirl Kitchen are anything but slim, though (speaking of slim) they do have healthy options on the menu).  That said, it’s hard to overlook the breakfast tacos and biscuits on the morning menu.  After all, it’s breakfast…who is counting calories that early in the morning?

No matter where you choose to break your fast, 30A is peppered with delicious quality venues.  While Another Broken Egg Café, the Great Southern Café, and the Cowgirl Kitchen Market lead in breakfast and brunch go, see, dos, there’s not a lot of wrong you can do on 30A other than not showing up.

In case it weren’t obvious, the communities of 30A are just as delightful of places to live as they are to eat. If a life of waking up to crashing waves and sugar white sand beaches or jogs along secluded beachside pathways sounds like your kind of living, then consider making 30A your permanent home highway.
