Wouldn’t it be nice to know that you had the power to attract only those clients that you really love to work with? Imagine the joy and satisfaction you’d feel getting up in the morning knowing that your day would be filled with people that you like to be around! An ‘ideal client’ in the world of real estate can (and should) look different to each and every agent. It’s not just about wanting to work with people that you like to be around – it’s also about attracting a client that is right for your business. Here are some steps to attracting your ideal client.
Identifying Your Ideal Client
Have you clearly defined the qualities of your ideal clients? I have found that most people aren’t even sure what an ‘ideal client’ even looks like for their business. So, here are some things to consider when trying to identify your ideal client – think back on one of your most successful and pleasurable real estate transactions.
- What are some things that the client did to make that transaction more pleasurable?
- What type of real estate transaction were you dealing with? A home buyer or a home seller?
- How involved was the client in the transaction? Do you prefer a client that is more or less involved in the process?
These are just a few questions that you can ask yourself to help identify what your ideal client looks like.
Identify the Wrong Clients for You
Sometimes finding your ideal client is as easy as recognizing and identifying the wrong clients. Most real estate agents have had their share of bad experiences with a client. So, what made those experiences bad? If you asked 10 real estate agents that question, you would likely get 10 different answers. The characteristics that make up an ‘ideal client’ for some agents could be the same characteristics of another agent’s ‘wrong client.’
Get in Front of Your Ideal Clients
Once you know the characteristics of your ideal client, find ways to meet them and connect with them. Real estate is such a personable profession and face to face meetings and interaction go a long way, but don’t count out online interaction, either.
- Target them with your social media strategy
- Attend the right social events
- Join new community organizations
Remember, these clients are your target market now, so you need to join the networking organizations they belong to and put yourself in the position to interact with them in person.
Think About the Law of Attraction
The Law of Attraction is pretty simple, right? Basically, you just put out the energy that you want to attract back. If you want to attract your ideal client, you need to express the qualities that they express. So, if your ideal client is positive, motivated, committed and a joy to be around, you should be exuding those qualities yourself. Not only are those great qualities to possess, but you’ll become a magnet for your ideal clients!
