William Shakespeare once wrote, “If music be the food of love, play on…” Here in South Walton, and especially along 30A, music is a great passion of ours. Whether it’s one of our world-class local talents playing at one of the many intimate, live music venues, maybe a regional headliner playing at one of our beautiful amphitheaters, or a famous musician making a surprise appearance at your favorite Sunday Funday spot – at mostly any given time along 30A, you have access to really great music. So, our advice to you is, never leave home without your dancing shoes – you never know when you may need them!
La Playa at Gulf Place hosts local favorite, Forrest Williams Band, every Thursday night at 7pm, along with other local artists throughout the week.
The Red Bar is a historic restaurant and live music venue in Grayton Beach. A Sunday Funday hot spot, The Red Bar double-books crowd favorite, Dread Clampitt, on Sundays for two different sets – 12-3pm and 7-10pm. You better get there early to grab the best seats in the house! You can also come and enjoy the Red Bar Jazz Band on various nights of the week.
The Hub is a new, up-and-coming live music venue with a whole lot to offer. This venue is quickly becoming a local’s hot spot. What’s not to love about a cozy outdoor amphitheater, with restaurants and shopping to boot?
Local Catch Bar & Grill is another Sunday Funday live music hot spot, and a sure place where you’ll need your dancing shoes! Get down with Forrest Williams Band every Sunday from 3-7pm.
Coming Together for Great Music
One of the great things about the 30A community’s passion for its local musicians, is the way that the music brings everyone together. When you support the local musicians in this area, you are keeping that passion alive and actively participating in a camaraderie that is unique to the 30A community – not only are the songs food for our souls, but the laughter shared and lifelong friendships made are music to our ears as well.
Stars – they’re just like us, right? Well, they certainly blend right in to the local music scene here on 30A. It isn’t uncommon for a famous musician or celebrity to make a surprise appearance at one of our live music venues while vacationing here along our beautiful South Walton beaches. Sometimes they may pop in and play a song or two with the local band, while other times they may just sit back and enjoy the atmosphere right along with the locals. Did you know that country star, Luke Bryan, shot portions of one of his music videos at The Red Bar?
